Heaven on Earth
By: Claire from New York, NY
Date of Visit: March 2003
If there could be a heaven on earth I believe it would be located on this 1,800 acre private island, just south of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. Everything about the place is perfect- from the beautiful rooms, to the breathtaking horticulture, to the delicious food, the personable and helpful staff, the fantastic public spaces (lobby, pool), the great range of free (!) activities, and of course, the world's most gorgeous beach. There aren't even enough adjectives to describe this Caribbean paradise. From when you wake up in the morning to enjoy a nice late breakfast at Tradewinds (courtesy of chef Willo Stoutt), to a morning lounging at Deadman's (the resort's main beach), lunch at the Beach Bar and Grill, to minimize your time of walking and maximize that of eating their stellar Caribbean fare, with the beautiful scenery right before your eyes. Then an afternoon of sailing, kayaking, snorkeling or even scuba for the more adventerous set. An evening walk around the loop, with cocktails brought to you at sunset, and a little tennis slipped in on the lit courts before your 8:30 dinner resevation. Also a don't miss: the staff will happily golf-cart you out to White Bay Beach, a more remote yet equally beautiful shore, facing Stevenson's famous Treasure Island (Norman Island). This beach offers the best snorkelling, and they will bring you a pinic lunch whenever you desire! Each year I return, vowing to make my way over to the Baths of Virgin Gorda and I cannot pry myself from the beauty of this place. Though on the steep side economically, every penny is worth and this is a place not to be missed.

The BEST vacation ever!
By: Kim from Northern Virginia
Date of Visit: May 2003
Peter Island is truly a first class resort. We just returned from our honeymoon there. What an incredible place! The beaches, rooms, food, and service are exceptional. The staff was friendly, gracious, efficient, and went out of their way to satisfy our every whim. The rooms and grounds were amazing, as are the beaches. It is truly paradise... worth every penny of the cost!

Paradise
By: Anonymous from Maryland
Date of Visit: November 2002
Our five nights at Peter Island Resort were perfect. Terrific oceanfront suite. Great food. A beach so lovely I never tired of simply gazing at it. Wonderful service. A peaceful, quiet ambience that brought on the instant relaxation we needed so badly. We absolutely loved this place -- I went with high expectations -- and they were all exceeded. I wish I was back on our deck, sipping my coffee ... listening to the waves and the palms. Ahhhhhhh.
