Fabulous, can only keep returning year after year!

I've been coming to Fort Recovery with my husband and our two children ages 12 and 16 for 10 years now. We have seen the hotel transform from a small quaint villa hotel to it's outstanding, lavish resort that it is today. The rooms are absolutely huge and of the highest quality the Caribbean has out there. I highly recommend the new villas, they are larger than the originals and a few inches closer to the water. You cannot find a place anywhere in the Caribbean that is so well maintained, intimate, quiet or full of history as this resort. Everything from the resort owner who was a Broadway Producer, to the oldest fort in the whole Caribbean, will peak your interest and is worth learning about while staying here. The food at the restaurant is to die for, when we first came to Ft. Recovery there was no restaurant, just an elegantly served dinner to your room by candlelight on your patio. That option was still available even during our last trip and offers a world of romance and privacy. Also an update over the years is their Spa which has it's own private building to itself over the last few months, according to Pamela the resort manager. We had massages there 3 times and the ambiance was just what we needed, quiet and relaxing. The beach is as always PRIVATE, that means no tourists arm to arm with you fighting for beach chairs or hundreds of stray cats and such, but a beach all to your own practically with nothing but the amazing views of St. John in front of you and the calm waters lapping at your chair. Basically I would have to say my experience at Fort Recovery over these last 10 years always keeps me intrigued and always wanting more, looking forward to each trip as if it were my first...

Just a Fantastic Time.
By: Anna David from NY, NY

I spent 2 weeks on Tortola in the past, for one week chartering a sail boat and another week at Sugar Mill. This past May however we opted to stay at Fort Recovery Resort because of it's location (directly on the beach) and the rave reccomendations we received from friends and business colleagues. This resort wasnt your typical Sandal's, standard room type of thing, yes it had all of the resort amenitites you'd expect (room service, maid service, cable tv, a/c, toiletries, etc) however the room's were extremely spacious and tastefully decorated. My husband and I enjoyed each day either on their small beach (not open to the public, definitely a PLUS!) or sun bathing on their dock. We thoroughly enjoyed the food at the restaurant, it was well presented, tasteful and of very large portions. The highlight of our trip was on their Snorkel Trip which was scheduled for us so we didn't need to bother thinking about that at all, our trip was a complete blast, Captain Paul was fantastic! The staff all did everything they could to make our stay what we wanted, and never turned down a request, we will return to this hotel.

Blissful Holiday Experience.
By: Anonymous from East Hampton, NY
Date of Visit: June 2007
I had a blissful experience at Fort Recovery. I had wanted to go to Fort Recovery since five years ago and one thing or another we didn't make it until this year. I was so happy with everything I would go back again tomorrow if I didn't have to work. What I loved most about my Holiday was the convenience of my villa right next to the beach. Although the beach is small we were able to lay in the sun, snorkle and swim right out our door. It was those lazy days that sparked my blissful experience. I even got to like driving on the Left hand side. Now that I'm home I have to look both ways before crossing the street. My most memorable experience was our boat trip to the Caves at Norman Island. I have never seen so many fish. Just being under water with nature created such a blissful feeling inside, I'm thinking about learning how to dive for our next trip. The other really good thing about our trip was a daysail to Jost Van Dyke. The winds were not to strong and we sailed on a catamaran and they put up the schooner at the end of the day. I really felt like I was in the lap of luxury. Those blissful winds. I'll never forget.

Superb Beachfront Vacation
By: Sabrina Barton from Salt Lake City, UT
Date of Visit: May 2007
We were very impressed with Fort Recovery. Everything that they promised was made available to us. We took the week package and had 6 full breakfasts included. The variety was good and we enjoyed the coffee very much. For lunches we were on our own and mostly ate a snack. We also had 4 dinners included and they were really great. I would give the chef top scores. You could tell they were very experienced. We had a jeep included and toured the island and the beaches more than once. We went dancing one night at Quito's Gazebo in Cane Garden Bay and had a ball. Back at Fort Recovery we still had a boat trip and massages included to take. We loved the boat brand new sunseeker and the captain was really helpful and the massage was superb. Definitely we are planning to go back next year. Perhaps we'll bring my sister and her husband. I know they would love it too.
