Disappointing Diving Pelican Suites

The property has potential, wonderful beach, however it could use some attention. We found the two units filthy. I made the mistake of looking at the pillows and could not sleep thinking about them. Bathroom shower was dirty/sandy. No top sheets, just a blanket (had it been washed?). No hand towels or extra toilet tissue in the bathroom. Stove did not work. Rustic is fine, but filth is not, especially for what you are charging. In one unit there was a foul odor, possibly from the refrigerator not having been run for awhile. Placencia is a wonderful town, I would go back there again, however it would not be to stay at the Diving Pelican Suites.

Perfect Spot with all the comforts of home!

The Diving Pelican is a great find in Maya Beach.....super quiet place, with only 3 suites and it feels like youve got the whole coast to yourself! It has all the comforts of home.... Air-conditioner.... Full Kitchen.... Color TV with satellite....and some absolutely incredible views! False Caye is right off the coast and I snorkeled right off the beach and saw tons of fish and coral heads....be sure to check out The Hungry Gecko for some of the best local cuisine on the peninsula....Wish I was still there!
