UnBelizeable!

This place rocks! From the accommodations to the food, not to mention the friendly and welcoming staff... we had a ball fishing, diving, sailing, snorkeling and visiting mayan ruins. The rooms are so charming and we loved the communal dining. You get to meet fabulous people from all over. Definitely coming back to El Pescador...this time with family and friends!

one word - FABULOUS

Date of Visit: November 2006
Our visit to El Pescador was as close to a perfect vacation as it gets.
The accomodations were unique, clean, and comfortable. We stayed in a villa which had a fantastic kitchen, huge balcony (with a hammock), and the coolest tiled bathrooms! The food is served family style at dinner, which makes for always interesting conversation with people from all over the world, and is quite delicious. The place is owned and run by a family from the states that are about the nicest, most accomodating people I have ever met (and their kids are adorable!). There are 3 pools and phenomenal fishing and diving. Alonzo, the dive master, is the best I have ever dove with.
If you want to eat "in town," there are a suprisingly high number of great quality restaurants for the size of the island. I will admit that everything was a bit pricy, but the costs are more than made up for with the unique location and "non-touristy" feel to the island, e.g, there are very few cars and no paved roads but plenty of golf carts, bikes and water taxis.
There really is not a lot to do on the island other than fish, dive, and relax. Definitely no putt-putt or waterslide parks. So if that is what you are looking for, perhaps this is not the place for you. I have never been to a vacation spot where I had absolutely no problems leaving the "real world" behind until I stayed at El Pescador. Trust me, it is that good.
I will highly recommend El Pescador to anyone within ear shot for years to come!
