Sooo many bad faces

Make no mistake. The place is well kept, with comfortable and spacious rooms, equipped with modern (and silent A/C). Clean and probably recently renewed. No sea views though since all rooms have a small window facing a patio filled with tropical vegetation. Little daylight gets into the rooms. No sundeck or swimming pool either.
The restauran offers good food, specially pasta (italian owners) at the usual overpriced rates common in Roatan. The size of the servings is huge...
BUT
The staff are amazingly unmotivated. I guess if smiling is not included in the room rates ($60/day/double room). All you get to see is bored faces, lazy answers, bad gestures and a "A-ha" after you say "Thank you". Unwilling to work, serve or please the tourist. It really made us an awful impression during our 3-night stay there. It just wasn't comfortable to get into the restaurant or the reception in order to ask for something and face such a dull and unfriendly staff.
Attached to the resort is a diving centre (PADI Gold Palm Resort) Again, unfriendly attitude and un-professional practice though i didnt observe any clear violation of standards. Not a pleasure to dive with them at all...
