WOULD GO AGAIN...DIFFERENT RESORT
By: Tina LaMadeleine from Ware, Massachusetts

We just returned from our stay in the Bahamas. Feb '04. (I couldn't select 2004 from drop down list). I really loved the island alot. I can not say enough about the islanders. All of them very friendly. The hotel was ok, but not great. I thought that once questions were asked of the front desk, they got snippy. We were supposed to confirm our return flight with the concierge the next prior to departure. It was just after 8:30 am and the front desk said she just got here, give her a few minutes. Now this was our last day...I did not want to waste it in the lobby. Two girls came over about 10 minutes later and the front desk told them she didn't come in until 9 am. ?? Then when the lady did finally get there (a little after 9 am) she handed me the phone. I could have done that myself! There was a little garbage in the pool (paper wrappers, cigarette) but I am not sure if that blew in over the past couple hours. Very pricy island. But I would go back...just to a different hotel.

Crystal Palace is an older facility but what makes it special is the people who serve you. We have been going to the Crystal Palace for 17 years just because of the people. Looks are not everything.

Wont go back again
By: Anonymous from Pittsburgh, PA
Date of Visit: March 2003
While renovations are going on, I found the place to be below par. The beach is terrible! Very coarse sand with large pieces of calcified bits in it and THOUSANDS of straws, plastic cutlery, cups, and othe garbage on it. The grounds are dirty also. I saw the same wet towels lying in the bushes for 6 whole days. Our room zaccuzi had a screen off the filter. If soap or a washcloth was dropped......zip it went into the pump and stopped the machine. This happened three times to us and each time we had to call and wait for a repairman. It would have been so simple to just put a screen over the hole. The room(big corner suite) smelled musty and their was mold all over the bathroom ceiling. A 6 pack of beer in the shop in the lobby cost $14.00. I found it all to be pricey for the accomodations. Our refrigerator was packed solid with ice. The door was open and a towel was saturated and dripping on the floor. It took 3 days to get a new refrigerator in its place. Spring-breakers were there also and they got everything at a discount. We mature folks had to pay full price.
