I planned this vacation for myself, husband and our son (15) and Daughter (16). This was our first vacation that cost a few years of saving.
The sad reality was that compared to other all inclusives my husband and i have experienced. This was unbelievably BAD. Not to mention embarrasing. My kids must have thought i took the cheapest deal out there.
First , upon arrival. We went to our room. Which i paid for accomodations for Two Adults,Two Teenagers.!
I Got a Room with two double beds. My kids were not sleeping together!! The Ceiling tiles in the bathroom were laying on the floor. (job in progress, not completed). Ordered a roll-a way bed. Free because they admitted to their mistake. Well if it weren't for the foul smell i would have had my kids sleep on the floor.
Next. You had to carry this cardboardish card around with you that had to be present for any meal, drink ect... what an inconvienence . I would rather wear a wrist strap. When you go to the beach. you have to worry about this stupid card getting lost, wet ect..
you had to sign your name to a credit slip even if it was a glass of water.
You had to make your reservations for dinner ASAP or you didn't eat!!!!! As far as the all night food availability > NOT. when the restaurants closed. Tough luck.... There was no late night food access. As shown in brochure. All the Pool bars closed at 8 pm. when the action starts. They took the so called game room accessories away for the kids at 8 also. And let me tell you about the game room. OUtside. Lopsided basketball net. Broken Ping Pong Tables. Need i go on. So basically the teenagers had nothing to do. There was no activity around the pool. This is the Bahamas People. I wanted to be out side in the beautiful carribean air, drink Pina Coladas. You had to go inside to a smokey loud Lounge for that. I could do that in Baltimore. towels were a joke also. If they were not guarded with your life. You paid dearly. $50 big ones. So the stress of leaving your towel on a beach chair to snorkel was enough.
It gets better. ALL INCLUSIVE GOLF RESORT, (MY A**)
My husband and son inquired about tee times upon arrival. "Oh sorry sir, there is a golf tournament in and you can only got tee times after 2pm. "
K then put us in.
My Hus and Son went one day to their tee time. were told they HAD TO Use a Golf Cart. $75.00 out of pocket. (all inclsive??). So my husband went back and forth with this counter clerk. and decided to take it up with managment later on. Proceeded to go golf. Someone approached them for drinks. They ordered two Gatorades (figuring it was Included) $9 later. Then it proceeds to start to storm after teeing off 1 hole. They were shutting down the course!!!!
My husband, along with another man, asked for their $75.00 Back...Sorry NO REFUNDS, after arguing , went to the hotel and demanded to speak to manager. Got $75.00 back!!!!Other Man checked out that day and went to Atlantis!!

I have never been to a beach resort so un equipped to make customers happy in all my stays as a vacationer. I wrote Raddison directly and explained my situation and then some. They offered me a free , upgraded stay for two. I have been corresponding with certain parties since to make sure offer stayed the same. And since have learned that the first person of contact has been let go. NO Notified. After not getting any response to my emails , i emailed Raddison direct. They put me in contact with another person as recent as two months ago. I have emailed that person Three times, because we are ready to take advantage of this offer. I have not gotten any response. I am in Process of contacting Raddison Once again. But for some reason am having no luck , Go Figure...

Don't go to this resort if you want a positive memorable vacation.

PLEASE

The worst stay i have ever had!

THE ROOMS: Upon check-in approximately 12 in the afternoon, I was assigned a room. The room was not ready, which was fine, however we were informed that the only place to change was a hotel bathroom. By approximately 3pm, our room was assigned but it was a “smoking room” which was unacceptable. My children are asthmatic and have allergies, spending a night in that room would have literally required hospitalization. After what seemed like forever, and several layers of management, I was assigned a different room. It got to the point where I was on your lobby phone looking to book a different hotel before the staff accommodated me. I was given room 153. We got to the room, only to discover it smelled horribly. There was an odor of mildew or mold that was overwhelming. I notified the front desk, they sent a service attendant. The person who came to service spread something around the floor, and sprayed air freshener. A short time later, another person delivered a dehumidifier and vacuumed. All of the service people acknowledged the smell, but none of the efforts worked. The dehumidifier made noise all night. I tried to tolerate the discomfort as they had taken me out of the smoking room. By the morning I could not take it anymore. I was at the desk at 7am explaining my problem. They again told me they were booked and they could do nothing for me. The manager was due in at 8am. I waited and saw the manager. By 9am, I was told I could have a room, 224, but I had to wait until 3pm. That was fine, however, I needed to pack (again) and be out of room 153 by 11am. Although I was extremely unhappy, I sent my family to the beach, I packed and was out of room 153, room less for a few hours and moved into room 224. We arrived at the “new room” about 6pm to prepare for dinner. Room 224 was worse than the previous two rooms. It smelled very bad, and had poor to no air-conditioning. I waived the white flag of surrender and left the balcony doors wide open. We bought several cans of air freshener and did the best we could. We made sure we were not crazy by confirming “do you smell that?” with the maid staff and friends we traveled with who came to the room. No one stayed long. We told the desk of the problems, including a one foot circle of growing mold in the bathroom ceiling tile, broken televisions stands, and ripped curtains. On our last day, the ceiling tile was changed.

THE SERVICE: Before we arrived at the resort I called and spoke to a customer service representative. I asked two seemingly simple questions. Do you have cell phone service on the Island? The answer was NO, there is no service. Do you have Internet service? The answer was “Yes, our business center has service for $7.00 every 15 minutes.” When we arrived, there were many cell phones in use, I did not inquire about their service, it was too late for me anyway. I then read the room literature regarding internet service and discovered that all the rooms have internet connections and it was only $10.00 a day. That was great news, however my lap top was left home based on BAD information.

Most, not all of the staff we encountered were rude. We were informed that we could only cash $100.00 in travelers checks per day. I had to use the ATM to fund activities.

The rear door to the hotels east wing needs a room card to gain access. It did not work. We reported it, and were told to “just wait for someone to leave, then go in.” another worker told us to go in through the “fun center” where they hand out sports equipment, and use the staff door. Great, they were teaching us how to break in.

We like to arrive at the beach early to obtain chairs, maybe some shade and towels for our family. At EVERY OTHER resort I vacationed in, someone met us at the beach, set up a few chairs, and provided towels. At the Radisson, we discovered, the towel booth does not open until 8am, you can only have one towel per person, and “IF YOU DO NOT RETURN THE TOWEL BY 6PM YOU WILL BE CHARGED $50.00 PER TOWEL TO THE ROOM.” Normally I worry about carrying cash and other valuables to the beach, in this case, we have to always leave someone behind to guard the towels. No one was there to assist with the chairs, or any other service (drinks, food, etc) and after 6pm, at the beach or pool, you were on your own, no towels.

When you did get to the beach you had to manage a daily barrage of vendors, from beads to boats to Jet ski’s and more. They were very bold and often fought between each other using inappropriate language.

The grounds, as you know, have three pool areas, in the center pool is a bar with a swim up bar. The only way to get a drink, with or without alcohol was from that bar. It was a good walk from the beach, which was fine, however, there was a “three drink” maximum at a time. They would not allow us to get several drinks and bring them to our group, we had to make several trips. We decided to go to the pool swim up bar. We learned that it was only serviced by one bar tender, we waited 30 minutes at times, and found out the that bar closes at 5pm, just about the time most people start to leave the beach for the pools.

We also went to the out door restaurant / grill. The food was fine, with a limited menu, however, you could not get a drink at the restaurant. You had to walk back to the only bar by the pool. And again, only three drinks at a time. OBSERD.

It seemed that wherever we went, we had to wait on a line. To check in and address every problem that we had, we were on line. At the restaurants, at the grill, at the towel booth, at the bars, we were on line, was there sufficient staff?

The restaurants, specifically the ground floor restaurants, were poorly air-conditioned which left the tile floors wet and very slippery. Only one restaurant took reservations, the rest were first come first serve. We had to wait hours to be seated. Most of the restaurants are self service. There was only one restaurant that served breakfast, buffet style. In one we grilled our own food. There was an ice cream machine that did not work for the entire stay. So in a resort, where we serve ourselves, get our own food and drink, requiring several trips in and out of the one of two locations, WHY is there an automatic 15% gratuity? Who is that for?

We attempted to golf, made a reservation and arrived to golf. We were one adult and three 16 year olds. We then were made aware that only the adult could take a golf cart. We were told we must use two carts. After lengthy conversation, we learned that we could not walk or take one cart, so in effect, we could not go out to golf? We came back to the resort. STAY CLEAR!

This hotel was great- staff went above and beyond. All-inclusive is the way to go! Very strong drinks, never had to wait long and the food was great! Asked to be upgraded and we were since they had availability! Hotel transfers were quick, bus service on the Island was easy to use. Pool water was a little cold, but the jacuzzi was nice! Also, call and make dinner reservation for the first couple of nights before you go, or you will end up eating at 10p. Try the Forge- you get to grill your own food! Can't wait to go back!

I thought that this was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. It is marketed as a 4+ star hotel and I would give it no more then a 2 Star rating. There are so many complaints that it is not worth setting them out - we moved to the Atlantis resort after 48 hours of it. Main points of note will be the serious humidity/damp problem which the hotel has. They only part of the hotel which does not smell damp and musty is the beach. We moved rooms twice and the smell was constantly present. If you're fat and want to get fatter regardless of the quality of the food and service then this is the place for you. Surrounded by big americans eating. Plates, dirty glasses and empty beer cans are strewn all around the pool and beach area. I think they only clean up once and at the end of the day. Any suggestion that this is a quality hotel is fanciful.Stay away unless you want cheap, and actually their prices are not cheap. All in all a very bad experience.
