 Viva Fortuna is set amidst 26 acres of lush landscaping, along a 1,200 square foot private stretch of white sand beach on Grand Bahama Island in The Bahamas, which is only 55 miles from the east coast of Florida.
Grand Bahama Island offers fine dining, shopping and a superb nightlife that features casinos and nightclubs. The town of Freeport and its International Bazaar have an excellent selection of shopping choices. Nearly 100 stores are here, built in the architectural style of the countries they represent.
Grand Bahama Island attracts vacationers with its championship golf courses, soft-adventure activities, the famous Underwater Explorers Society (UNEXSO), and the Lucayan National Park, which is filled with tropical birds and exotic flora. The Lucayan National Park is also home to the longest underwater cave system in the world.
Another popular site to see is the Bahamas National Trust Rand Memorial Nature Centre, a beautiful wildlife sanctuary that features a 2,000-foot trail, exotic birds and many Bahamian plant species.
Port Lucaya is a great place to experience local island culture. Visitors to the port can enjoy daily entertainment, shopping and dining throughout the complex. Families will favor the special evening and weekend cultural activities.

We love diving, so each of our eight beach resorts comes with a Padi 5 Stars Dive Center and an array of unique and diverse scuba sites. Not certified? Not a problem. See the dive center for one, two and three-day courses. Once you are certified, however, a whole new world will open up; the Bayahibe Coral Reef for example, or Catlina Island in the Dominican Republic. Or Moray Manor, Papa Doc Wreck and Edge of The Ledge on Grand Bahama. How about the world-famous (we kid you not) Palancar Reef In Mexico as well as Cozumel island and the fresh-water cenotes?
