Bailiwick is a spacious vacation rental home in a private estate setting on the outskirts of Governor's Harbour on the quiet island of Eleuthera, one of the more popular of the Family Islands in the Bahamas.
Eleuthera is a very quiet place and one of its attractions is there isn't all that much to do other than enjoy the beach and good company. One thing you won't find here are lots of fancy restaurants or late night clubs for dancing the night away. (Actually, that's why we like it.) Nonetheless there are some very enjoyable ways to pass your time:
A day trip north will take you through several small settlements and across the dramatic Glass Window bridge (where the island narrows to nothing and Atlantic waves crash through the cliffs below to meet the calm shallow waters on the lee side of the island). Continue further and you can cross by water taxi to historic Dunmore Town for lunch at one of several Harbour Island resorts, or visit the industrious fishing community of Spanish Wells. |
