Excellent Budget Travel
By: Anonymous from Hanover, NH
Date of Visit: March 2006
Just got back from 8 days at the Seabreeze in Aruba. We stayed in the cheapest single room apartment. Excellent budget travel... clean, simple and in good condition. It is NOT a luxury hotel in any way. The kitchen was adequate to cook most of our meals and the bedroom nice. The beds were comfortable and the A/C was adjustable by degrees and VERY efficient. There was cable TV and a small stereo/CD player. There is a computer available in Philip's office from 9-noon daily for e-mail, downloading/transferring pictures etc. There is a small WADING pool, perfect for small children or to cool off with a Balashi (the local beer). The courtyard is beautiful and a great place to sit, sun or party. The BBQ area is large and easy to use.
Pos Chiquito is not a tourist area. It is a residential area with little for tourists to see/do within walking distance. The beach is small and rocky... but the snorkeling is unbelievable. If you do go, the best area we found is to the left of the end of wrecked dock. It is 2 blocks from the Seabreeze. There is a chinese restaurant/bar that serves excellent food with HUGE portions (2 portions to-go lasted us 4 meals). The grocery store is small but has all of the basics you need.
Recommendations: Bring spices/bath soap/beach towels Bring your own snorkel gear (or buy it in O-stad at the sporting goods store off of Main St.) Absolutely DO rent a car. If you are at the Seabreeze, you will need it.
One last comment.... for Americans, this is not your luxury vacation hotel. If you are looking for that go to the Marriott in the high-rise hotel area. If you are looking for an inexpensive, clean and relaxing place to stay on Aruba - the Seabreeze exceeds my expectations.
If we go to Aruba again, we will stay at the Seabreeze.

Basic but good value accommodation
By: Elly from Leeds, UK
Date of Visit: August 2005
Simple accommodation in a quiet residential Dutch/Arubian area away from the noise & bustle of the main resort areas. Two minutes walk from access to Ocean (via steps to concrete platforms) & Five minutes walk from Mangel Halto beach-Turquoise water & white sand. Good area for snorkelling. The apartments were simply furnished but had everything needed & were clean & comfortable. Maid service 3 times per week to clean & change bedding & towels. Air conditioning powerful. Individual patio areas, sunloungers available in small but unusual 'garden setting'. Barbeque in grounds for general use & a small plunge pool mainly used by children. Cool boxes provided free of charge to take to beach which were a plus. Two small but good supermarkets very close by for all basic needs(-for more choice head down road to Saveneta for larger supermarkets or through Oranjestad passed port/industrial area). Area surrounding very quiet, not much nightlife -recommend car hire to travel further a field.(Ruba rentals at Airport particularly helpful & good value). Quiet & totally relaxing surroundings & would definitely stay there again - very good value. Disagree totally with other review.(March 2005)

Very Enjoyable
By: Bob Ferris from British Columbia
Date of Visit: March 2004
My wife and I stayed at the Sea-Breeze for 4 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We don't like crowded hotel areas and the Sea-Breeze is perfect. The beach is only a short walk away and has the best snorkeling in Aruba. Facility is kept in immaculate condition and rooms were spotless. Host Phillip is most accomodating and is there to make sure all your needs are met.

Do not stay at the Sea Breeze Apartments
By: Michelle from Wisconsin
Date of Visit: March 2005
These apartments were terrible. Our air conditioner did not work. THe room smelled. We had two beds with a hard mattress and two flat sheets, that's it. There was no balcony, just a tight area with a chair and hammock. The pool was the size of my bathtub. I would have love to have seen the big pool that they have on their website, no where to be found. Oh yeah, you can see the beach, from your car, down a cliff. No beach access that we could see without driving to it.
