good and bad

We stayed at the antiguan this year ,the rooms were awfull ,broken tiles in the bathroom, mouldy grouting ,it has fallen into disrepair,we were surprised how deserted the place was. all the fun huts on the beach were empty, the locals had all gone elsewhere to make a living, even the taxi rank. The beach is without doubt the best on the island ,no mosquitos which plaqued our freinds staying at the exclusive new complex built by a london hotel/restaurant guy and unwisely built next to mangrove swamps! we have been told for years that the place is about to be overhauled but it does not happen.my view if you want a fantastic beach and the bonus of no people on it this is unbeatable if you can negotiate a discount for the lack of nightlife .the people are great especially papa les and the boys on the beach who entertained our children beautifully almost exclusively!

BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE (RECEPTION HELEN)

This hotel holds about 2000 people, and there were only three of us!!! that's it. This place was deserted..We went "european" which means you pay for your food...you would think that they would offer you a "free" coffee...NO ! I had to pay $2.14usd, for a coffee that tasted like dirt!! Our first night stay was horrible, we were about to go to bed and realized that the bed sheets were still dirty from whom ever slept there before!!! to top things off the rooms smelt like mould! and the pool!!! was all "rust" . What I do know is that this Hotel needs a BIG face lift, about 15million dollars worth. What I can say is that, there is a new owner, and things will change, it's a beautiful location with gorgeous beaches, if this place gets a facelift, I would re-consider going back..But only if they make the changes and train their staff to have better customer service skills.
