The Gran Bahía Príncipe Resort is formed by three 5 stars resorts: Gran Bahía Príncipe Akumal, Gran Bahía Príncipe Tulum and Gran Bahía Príncipe Coba.  What to expect: The Gran Bahia Principe Akumal Resort, fronted by a beach of white sand and in some sections, of rock, lies between a green mangrove jungle and the turquoise water of the Caribbean. It welcomes families, couples, and singles. Holiday possibilities exist for group activities or solitary rejuvenation.
Amenity highlights: Beach and poolside sundecks blend into one another, providing a large area for sunbathing on lounge chairs or napping on hammocks beneath thatch-roof palapas. The main swimming pool is interlaced with palm trees and greenery, and offers spa tubs. The powdery white sand and rock beach extends a kilometer (more than a half-mile) in length past this resort and its neighboring sister resort and slopes to meet the Caribbean. In parts, the sand extends inland as far as 91 meters (100 yards). Dotted with trees, natural vegetation, and plenty of iguanas, this area offers secluded sunbathing, strolling, and areas for games.
Insider tip: A local ecological foundation offers guided tours of the protected coral reef area just offshore and accepts contributions to help endangered turtles during egg laying periods.
Our "all inclusive" system includes all the meals, snacks, national drinks, house wines and cocktails in all the bars and restaurants throughout the hotel complex, as well as a mini-bar service offering mineral water, soft drinks and beer. Towels, hammocks and sunshades are provided for the beach and swimming pool.
There is a program of activities and shows for adults and children (both in the day and in the evenings) and a wide range of games are organized to entertain everyone.

The hotel is situated on the Rivera Maya, to the east of the Yucatan peninsula. It is about 60 minutes from the Cancun airport. It is overlooking a private beach protected by a coral and surrounded by tropical vegetation.

 The hotel has a total of 630 bedrooms of which 558 are junior suites and 72 are doubles. 12 bedrooms are equipped for handicapped people. The bedrooms are situated in three storey villas with views over the sea and gardens.
All of the rooms have 2 full size beds or 1 king size bed, air conditioning, complete bathroom with jacuzzi, telephone, hair dryer, satellite TV, a safe (charged for separately), mini bar and a balcony or terrace.
Guests can enjoy a wide variety of air conditioned bars and restaurants offering both national and international cuisine.

The hotel is one hour (by car) from Cancún airport, 30 minutes from Carmen Beach and 20 minutes from Tulum.
From the airport head towards Chetumal, staying on the same federal highway. The hotel is at km 250. You can see Hacienda Doña Isabel from the road and there are large letters with the name Bahía Príncipe.
You can use taxis or public buses to leave the hotel. Cars can also be hired from the offices of the car rental company located in Hacienda Doña Isabel (Advantage Rent a Car).
