Description: Salsa with the Mayas at this festival - a cultural extravaganza held in July or August in San Pedro Town (Ambergris Caye). The Costa Maya Festival is a celebration of the Mundo Maya countries in Central America; Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. This weeklong celebration entertains its spectators with theatrical dancers, a variety of ethnic cuisines, beauty pageants, and Punta, Reggae, Soca, Salsa, Meringue, Cumbia, and traditional Mayan music. Each country picks a night to showcase their culture at the festival.
