Description: Come and meet one of Belize’s endangered species - the Black Howler Monkey - at this 18,000-square-mile reserve originally established in 1985. The monkeys, known as the “baboon” to Belize residents, are known for their infamous howl and raspy-like cat roar. Visitors can coast the rivers of Belize, and rove the mangroves, rustic villages, and authentic Maya archaeological sites on a guided tour from nearby San Pedro to the sanctuary.
