    Description: “Vendue” is a French word meaning sold. Slaves were among the commodities sold from this market place. The museum is named for the slave, Pompey.Vendue House was restored and now turned into an Emancipation Museum, the Pompey Museum.Museum hours are Monday – Saturday 10:00am to 5:00 pm and Sundays 12:00noon to 5:00 pm. Admission Fee $1.00 for adult and 50 cents for children.
