The Topless / Nude Beach Attraction...
Warm Mexican breezes sweep across your skin, waves of the water caress your skin and your all over body tan is the best ever. Why? Because you're it baring all, or most of you, on one of Mexico's public beaches or adults only resorts where you can "take it all off." Here's a capsuled overview of "rules" and where to find a place to enjoy the beach au naturel. About the Area...
Immediately south of Cancun along Highway 307, is the area popularly known as the Cancun - Tulum Corridor or The Mayan Riviera. The road runs parallel to the Caribbean and almost every turnoff to the left affords access to pristine beaches fringed by palm trees, a Mayan ruin surrounded by jungle, a sleepy fishing village or a luxury waterfront development. Most would consider Playa del Carmen a family oriented place. Mexicans by nature are conservative people and you would probably not see the nativies in the buff. There are in fact no topless or nude beaches at or near The Mayan Riviera. "Officially", there are no nude/topless beaches in or around the area however many women do sunbath topless. "Technically" this is not allowed, however I have never heard of anyone being fined or cited for topless sun bathing - nor even asked to put a top on. I would not recommend nor have I ever seen anyone completely nude on any public beach. Also, topless sunbathing should be confined strictly to the beach area. So women, do not feel free to stroll around the streets or hotels without a top on - unless your at one of the resorts below. Also, if you decide to "go off the reservation" so to speak and try to find your own little secluded beach, that officially is not topless, be sure to keep your clothes handy just incase someone else decides to share your private get-a-way spot. And as a matter of safety single women should use common sense or even better have a male counterpart when tanning au naturel. Adults Only Resorts in the Mayan Riviera...
