    Puerto Aventuras Overview

Puerto Aventuras is a world class residential marina community resort located in the heart of the Riviera Maya on the Mexican Caribbean. Here you will find a magical blend of lush tropical beauty with an easygoing yet sophisticated life style.

Puerto Aventuras is a quiet alternative to the noisy and more crowded Playa del Carmen. It is centrally located, has an international selection of restaurants and is safe - with a 24-hour security patrol. All the restaurants use bottled water and purified ice. Activities include golf, tennis, and diving and there are a few small shops selling local crafts, a pharmacy and two small grocery stores.  Puerto Aventuras features a golf course and an eclectic collection of shops, restaurants and clubs.

Puerto's deep water marina is a safe haven for sailors cruising the Caribbean, sport fishermen and larger yachts as well. It is the only mainland marina facility between Cancun and Belize City and there is a customs office as well.

Within Puerto Aventuras, activities center around the picturesque commercial center on the marina.  Here you will find numerous boutiques, 12 restaurants, 4 bars, a money exchange, 2 pharmacies, a post office, 3 internet cafes, 3 convenience stores, bank machine, snorkel tours, 2 tour operators,  car rental agency, 3 dive shops, maritime museum,  gym, spa, fishing charters, catamaran day trips, parasailing and the Dolphin Discovery program where you can swim with dolphins.
From thePuerto Aventuras central district you can move out within walking distance to find 2 white sand beaches with bountiful reefs just off shore, kayak & snorkel rentals, picturesque deepwater marina, challenging 9 hole golf course (a hidden gem) and tennis courts.

If you need to stay in touch with the rest of the world, Puerto Aventuras has internet, fax and telephone services. There is a doctor on call, 24 hour security patrol, and guarded gated entrance for your peace of mind.

For those flying in to Cancun,  the new highway (307) will take you to Puerto Aventuras, only 40 minutes south of Cancun's International Airport and 10 minutes south of Playa del Carmen.

Aquaworld offers ferry shuttle service to Cozumel departing from the marina daily.

Puerto Aventuras offers travelers the opporunity to swim with the dolphins, go catamaran sailing, sport fishing, or just swim & sunbathe at the great beach. The marina has waterfront gift stores, a disco, swim with the dolphins and a variety of excellent restaurants to choose from. The Mayan Ruins of Tulum are just 25 minutes south, Playa Del Carmen 20 minutes to the north and Cancun another 35 minutes farther north.

The best of  Puerto Aventuras dates from millions of years ago. The development includes three major protected bays and an inlet all covered by powder white sand.  The main beach area is in the central part of the resort on Fatima Bay with over 1.5 miles of Beach front beginning at condomino Chac Hal al and ending at Grand Peninsula.

Chan Yu Yum, a smaller bay to the north of the resort serves separately for Oasis hotel; an extension of beach was built inland to host several smaller bed&breakfast operations.

The only all- inclusive echological park, .....Less than five minutes from PA towards the archaeological site of Tulum.

A very active and relaxing experience on the Mayan Riviera.  Only 30 minutes north from Puerto Aventuras, park your vehicle and leave it outside the park, take a bicycle on a path through the dense jungle, change it for a kayak and row down a natural river through mangrove, change again for snorkel, mask and fins and explore the reef, then sit and relax with a fresh ceviche and beer.

For those interested in the Mayan Culture, Puerto Aventuras is located at short distances from some of the most impressive archaeological sites of the area including Tulum.

Only 20 minutes away...The only Mayan walled city on the coastline. Although not as impressive in size as Coba and Chichen Itza, it holds an unique beauty contrassting the stone casstle on a cliff above a white sand beach and the cleareswt turquoise water. A perfect combination for a day-tour would be to visit Tulum in the morning and on the way snorkel lunch and relax for a while at Xel-Ha.

    DIVING: |
Puerto Aventuras has highly trained and experienced staff of multi-lingual instructors, divemasters and guides as well as state-of-the-art equipment and custom dive boats that ensure you a safe and action-filled diving experience.

Puerto Aventuras 9 hole par 36 golf course is challenging, very pretty, and never busy.

While in Puerto Aventuras don't miss the chance to swim with the dolphins or at least go down to dolphin area and watch them swim with others.  It really is amazing to see these dolphins up-close.

    Puerto Aventuras Facts

    What to wear
Strictly casual resort wear, especially during the day. Jackets and ties are almost never needed, but it is customary to dress up for the discos, and most nice restaurants and bars require men to wear shirts and slacks (some allow Bermudas). Bathing suits (particularly for women) are not to be worn away from swimming pools and beach areas. Shorts should never be worn when entering a church.

Common sense can greatly reduce your chances of coming down with food or water related illnesses. Firstly, do not over indulge in spicy Mexican foods and pitchers of margaritas or strong Mexican beer during the first few days of your trip. Eat and drink in moderation. Go slowly if you are not used to the Mexican spices and cooking. Like many countries, do not eat from street vendors since they ... more
