It is centrally located, has an international selection of restaurants and is safe - with a 24-hour security patrol. All the restaurants use bottled water and purified ice. Activities include golf, tennis, and diving and there are a few small shops selling local crafts, a pharmacy and two small grocery stores. Puerto Aventuras features a golf course and an eclectic collection of shops, restaurants and clubs.
Puerto's deep water marina is a safe haven for sailors cruising the Caribbean, sport fishermen and larger yachts as well. It is the only mainland marina facility between Cancun and Belize City and there is a customs office as well.

Puerto Aventuras offers travelers the opporunity to swim with the dolphins, go catamaran sailing, sport fishing, or just swim & sunbathe at the great beach. The marina has waterfront gift stores, a disco, swim with the dolphins and a variety of excellent restaurants to choose from. The Mayan Ruins of Tulum are just 25 minutes south, Playa Del Carmen 20 minutes to the north and Cancun another 35 minutes farther north.
The best of Puerto Aventuras dates from millions of years ago. The development includes three major protected bays and an inlet all covered by powder white sand. The main beach area is in the central part of the resort on Fatima Bay with over 1.5 miles of Beach front beginning at condomino Chac Hal al and ending at Grand Peninsula.
Chan Yu Yum, a smaller bay to the north of the resort serves separately for Oasis hotel; an extension of beach was built inland to host several smaller bed&breakfast operations.

A very active and relaxing experience on the Mayan Riviera. Only 30 minutes north from Puerto Aventuras, park your vehicle and leave it outside the park, take a bicycle on a path through the dense jungle, change it for a kayak and row down a natural river through mangrove, change again for snorkel, mask and fins and explore the reef, then sit and relax with a fresh ceviche and beer.
For those interested in the Mayan Culture, Puerto Aventuras is located at short distances from some of the most impressive archaeological sites of the area including Tulum.
Only 20 minutes away...The only Mayan walled city on the coastline. Although not as impressive in size as Coba and Chichen Itza, it holds an unique beauty contrassting the stone casstle on a cliff above a white sand beach and the cleareswt turquoise water. A perfect combination for a day-tour would be to visit Tulum in the morning and on the way snorkel lunch and relax for a while at Xel-Ha.
