What about Cozumel...
 East Coast Beach
|
|
Cozumel, Mexico's largest island, is located just off the Yucatan Peninsula, at the edge of the N. American continental shelf. It is home to a fringing reef that supports prolific fish life. And, of course, there are seemingly endless sandy beaches. With these ingredients, is it any wonder that Cozumel is a favorite among travelers who love the sea?

Chankanaab Park and Lagoon
Chankanaab was a great place to snorkel and hang out for a few hours.
Completely refurbished 1996, this beachfront park, south of San Miguel, offers diverse attractions in a lovely setting. The main beach is studded with palapas for sunbathers, while just off shore there's outstanding diving and snorkeling. It's a little touristy now but it's good place to visit for an afternoon of fun and relaxation.

Pier at the Iberostar

We stayed at the Iberostar
This is a photo of the beach and pier at the Iberostar Cozumel.
I loved the Iberostar. Though if you read reviews online it's a mixed bag. I found the people and staff to be helpful and friendly.
The rooms were nice; A/C worked, plumbing worked. Though like many have commented on in other reviews the beds are a tad firm. But at the end of long day of scuba diving or just being in the tropics I am usually wiped out and am sleeping in 60 seconds.
