Foster's West Bay Restaurant has a lovely location on West Bay beach, and it seemed like a nice choice, especially on Sun/Mon when nearby (and excellent) Bite on the Beach is closed.
But food is inconsistent- we ordered the same dish twice. The first time is was excellent spicy fish fillets, the next it was a dried out, overcooked tiny whole fish.
Service is terrible, and unfriendly. Not only did they make mistakes, they then charged us for the erroneous items and claimed that only the owner/manager could cancel the charge. But we never managed to see the owner/manager, in 2 weeks on the island.As far as I'm concerned, they still owe us around $15.
And people sitting near the till (they looked like staff, but may have been friends of staff?)made offensive sexual comments as we passed by.
Finally, most week days, Fosters is overrun with cruise ship "package deal" clients, and will not bother with clients off the beach.
Bottom line: there are plenty of lovely places to eat in West Bay. Top notch and very reasonably priced Bite on the Beach; Paradise Beach villas and several snack bars. Or even cheaper, you can take a water taxi and go to West End. Don't bother with Fosters!

We ate at Foster's West Bay Restsaurant almost our whole stay while we were visting the island. Always had great meals, and good prices. Happy Hour 2 for 1, best prices on the island. Sure the island is laid back but we always had good service and lots of smiles. The fresh fish and seafood there is the best on the beach. This is our third trip and we always eat at Foster's. Wonderful beachfront location and they have palapas with swings where you can eat even closer to the water. Highly recommend it.

we really like the chef shrimp pasta. Also the coconut shrimp is awesome and Lobster thursday special for $12. Also try the Monkeylala blended drinks and the Fosters rum punch. Very good.
