Little Dipper
Restaurant Rating:
Date of Visit: May 2005
Restaurant Tip: "Roadside at it's best"
Funky little place with a great view on the side of the road. Located on Woburn Bay off one of the side roads stands the Little Dipper Restaurant. The restaurant is perched on the hill side overlooking the bay and has five tables. The cook, waitress and hostess are all the same woman and she simple cooks what she happens to have in her fridge.
Type of Restaurant: Caribbean
Price: US$11 - US$20
Favorite Dish: Had the fish with rice vegatables and it was tastey! Fresh fish filet served with a traditional creole seasoning of paprika, onions and tomatoes.
Directions/Location: The Little Dipper is located on the Woburn - Calivigny Road in the outskirts of the Woburn fishing village. On the bay side, about 200 meters up the road from Woburn to Calivigny.

Accommodations Tip: "Great Stay at True Blue"
True Blue is a reasonably priced gem of a hotel in Grenada. It's located away from St. George's and the main beaches, so if you like to be in the middle of the action this is not the place for you. But if you love great small hotels with charm and Caribbean character this is your place.
The hotel grounds and exterior of the buildings are amazing. Mostly pained in Caribbean colors it adds a great ambiance to the property. Very clean.
The restaurant at the hotel was always excellent and reasonably priced. Lambi (conch) was very good. They also offered a 'BBQ' where they served up grilled fish and chicken which was excellent as well.
The room was large and roomy and very clean. The bedroom/bathroom was air conditioned with a separate sitting area and kitchen/diner and a huge balcony.
There was a continental breakfast of fruit, toast/bread and cereals in the morning. It was adequate but nothing special and really was perfect for a light breakfast before diving.
The staff were always courteous and very helpful to all of my requirements. Including renting a car fromt the onsite rental company.
Most of the main hotels are on Grand Anse Beach which is a short taxi ride away. But the tranquility that True Blue offers far out ways the access to the beach in my opinion.
I was diving with Aquanauts the on site dive operator and had a fabulous 5 star experience with them as well. Good operation, excellent boats, top notch staff and safety equipment.
Oh...and all this was only a few month after Ivan had hit. Kudos to The True Blue!
Type of Property: Hotel
Price: US$101 - US$150
Unique Qualities: Hotel, Dive Shop, Marina, Restaurant, Beach Bar
Directions/Location: Located on True Blue Bay on Grenada's south coast.

Beach Tip: "La Sagesse Beach is Amazing!"
La Sagesse Beach is Amazing!
Ideal for a romantic getaway, La Sagesse beach is in a sheltered bay and has a large expanse of silver sands that surround the horseshoe bay.
Quite shallow along the shore, it is nearly always calm and is a favorite for families on the weekend. Visitors will find the restaurant and resort that go by 'La Sagesse Nature Resort'.
The restaurant menu features lots of fresh fish (tuna, mahi-mahi, king fish, grouper, snapper, snook, sword fish and flying fish) - depending on what the fishermen bring in. They also serve lobster, shrimp, lambi (conch) chicken, pork chops & filet mignon.
Directions/Location: La Sagesse Beach is located on the south side of the Island. You will need a car ideally or arrange for a taxi to drop you off and pick you up. It's a bit of a drive but it's well worth it.
