I greatly enjoyed my stay at the Iberostar. The resort is beautiful with cabanas/buildings that each contained about 4 units. It's a large property spread out over a large area, so it's it can be a bit of a walk either to the beach or to the front of the resort depending on where your room is.
The food was average to good. Nothing to complain about but it was not fine dining.
I love the location of the resort. It's on the southern tip of the island and it's VERY close to the dive sites. Usually within 10 minutes you are on top of the reefs. Which beats the usual 25+ minute ride from the hotels farther north.
The staff was friendly and helpfull and perhaps one of the most professional on the island.
I find the Iberostar to be one of the most 'tropical' feeling hotels on the island. Though it's spread out it is has a great charm. Great pool area and bar.
Beach: Don't go for the 'soft sandy dream beach' if this is your thing. The sand is bit 'grainy' and hard but quite beautiful with palm trees fringing the beach. Once in the water there are small rocks lying about. Many people wore there 'beach shoes' in the water though not necessary.

My room was more the fine and in good shape. A/C worked like a charm. Bed was a tad firm but not overly hard in my opinion. Clean. Fresh towels.
Diving was fantastic as usual and I had no problem with having my usual dive operator, Emerald Divers, come pick me up on the Iberostar pier.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel. For couples, singles and familes.
