Although the food was good and reasonably priced, we made the mistake of taking the waiter up on his offer of a pitcher of margaritas without asking him the price. After two pitchers we received the bill: $70US just for the margaritas. This experience left us with a bad taste in our mouths and a desire to share our negative experience. Plus, it was Christmas. We had some wonderful meals in other restaurants, but nothing compared to Especias. Adrian, the owner came to our table several times during the evening, telling us stories of how he began his restaurant, and other intesting things. He was so hospitable. The restaurant is small, so seating is limited. Reserve a table in advance. The prices are extremely reasonable. Way less than you'd expect to pay for similar food other places. Type of Restaurant: French Price: US$21-30 Favorite Dish: The Indian shrimp was a special the night we were there, as well as other shrimp dishes. Ours was very tasty. We also had a tenderloin. Wonderful food and equally wonderful presentation. Directions/Location: Just two blocks away from the ocean front on 5th Street, right on the corner with 10th Avenue. Nice location on the patio near the band. Pleasant surroundings. Type of Restaurant: Mexican Price: US$11-20 Favorite Dish: The chicken dish was fantastic. The beef steak was great. Gaspacho fresh and cool. Great guacamole. Directions/Location: Located on the south end of Cozumel, by the cruise piers, in the back of Los Cinco Soles. Avenida Rafael E. They have the best hands down fajita's and margarita's. The patio is very nice with a patio band. Please do not miss this place to eat.....you will not be diappointed.
