Simple but Fantastic... Cabanas Copal offers simple seaside Cabanas - most of which are situated on a hill/cliff overlooking the Caribbean sea. The views are fantasic and the crash of the surf on the beach right below below lulled me to sleep each night. If you like to camp or rent a cabin here in the USA you will love this place. But rest assured this place is not for everyone. They bill themselves as an eco-resort and there is no electric in the rooms - only candles. There is a fantastic restaurant on site where we had some very good meals - A small bar and an internet cafe as well. You NEED to bring a flash light to get around the hotel grounds after dark - again no electricity! Type of Property: Hotel Price: less than US$50 Unique Qualities: If you are looking for something different and unique this is it. Our cabana was a rustic thatched hut with cement flooring. There is no electricity so each cabana is litle by candle light. This is like "easy roughing it" in the Caribbean. If you like a little soft adventure and get by with out an A/C ... this place is uber cool!
