Submitted By: Tip Submitted On: June 02, 2006 Tip Helpfulness: 5.00 As ranked by other Members [ edit this tip ] Submit Your Own Restaurant Tip Turks and Caicos Restaurant Tips All Turks and Caicos Tips Bugaloos Conch House Restaurant Rating: Date of Visit: January 0 Restaurant Tip: "MOST AWFUL FOOD AND SERVICE!!" There are many fantastic restaurants in Turks & Caicos but BANANA BOAT was one of the WORST! The service was most awful. The waitress could barely speak or read. AND THIS IS AN ENGLISH SPEAKING COUNTRY....Turks/Caicos is British! She was slow and cannot speak properly or read well.......so when she took the orders for our party of 8, she wrote every single order down INCORRECTLY after it had been repeated THREE TIMES EACH. Of course, given that she has severe problems ( not sure whether it was a learning disability or mental) 6 of the 8 orders arrived totally INCORRECTLY. She did not apologize and just looked at us baffled and smiled........now, two had their meals while the other 6 waited another 30 minutes.and then only 4 orders came back correctly but we were too annoyed and too hungry to wait again. STILL NO APOLOGY- just looked at us as if we were nuts! After all this, we forgot about any dessert and asked for the bill,....this took another 45 mins for her add it up and of course, we expected mistakes given how the orders arrived to most of us (INCORRECTLY).......tons of mistakes on the check. SO IF YOU ARE DUMB ENOUGH TO GO TO BANANA BOAT, YOU HAD BETTER REVIEW YOUR BILL 5 times! Then, of course you had to wait another 30 mins to get the correct check. WE ARE VERY PATIENT but to wait 2 hrs to get 6 of the 8 orders incorrectly and then to have to wait another hour to get a correc bill was ridiculous......... And BEWARE OF THE TOILETS.....if you dare to venture out on the ramp to get to one. MOST WOMEN WHO WERE THERE THAT NGIHT...other parties came back and decided not to go..........as we eventually did.......very dangerous location in the dark - along a ramp- on the water..... ALL THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN OK IF THE FOOD WAS GOOD or if SOMEONE COULD EVEN OFFER AN APOLOGY. The food was the worst and the SERVICE WAS HORRENDOUS and RUDE!!! ALL THE OTHER RESTAURANTS IN TURKS WERE GREAT! Great service, Great people and food and ambiance and for the price, it was reasonable. Too bad, I cannot say the same or anything positive about BANANA BOAT! Submitted By: Vida / vidatravels From: Not Available Tip Submitted On: September 29, 2006 Tip Helpfulness: (Tip Not Ranked) Submit Your Own Accommodations Tip Turks and Caicos Accommodations Tips All Turks and Caicos Tips The Alexandra Resort View Hotel Information: The Alexandra Resort Accommodations Rating: Date of Visit: August 2001 Accommodations Tip: "Great place to stay." I visited this resort before the swimming pool was completed. The rooms were furnished nicely. I recommend the studio over the one bedroom. In the studio, the bed is near the sliding glass door facing the beach. The one bedroom is toward the front of the condo and faces the parking lot. I'm sure this has change since the pool is now on the property. I would definitly go back.
