The Towers at Mullet Bay

Postby diverguy on Tue May 30, 2006 1:17 pm

My wife and I are going to lose a timeshare week unless we use it before the end of August. RCI tells us that we can head to St. Martin and stay at the Towers at Mullet Bay. We are divers, so I am hoping we can arrange some diving at a nearby shop. I would be grateful to any of you who have had anyexperience with the Towers and could recommend a dive shop that doesn't use cattle boats. Thanks in advance!

The Towers

Do a search on traveltalkonline site.

We will be there 6/24-7/1

Here is a recent post from there:

Towers Details
Pros
Very large, very well maintained two bedroom, two bathroom unit.
Absolutely no problems with the A/C, water, or electricity.
Gorgeous marble, everywhere.
No musty smells in the unit (versus Flamingo - where we stayed in October).
High quality furniture.
Shower units were in very good condition (versus Royal Palm).
Plenty of balcony space.
Easy parking.
Convenient to drive to Maho, Simpson Bay and Marigot.
Even though we didn't take advantage of the grill by the pool - the lunch menu looked good and it was reasonably priced ($5-$8 range for burgers and sandwiches).

Cons
The view from unit wasn't the greatest, but not a big deal.
We found the pool somewhat far away from the building. Again, not a big deal.
Property is not directly on the beach (it's about a ten minute walk away).
We like to visit Orient beach every day - the drive took us at least 30-40 minu

Also:

Thanks for taking the time to post your report and thanks for sharing your thoughts on The Towers. We have a two bedroom there and love it but we're on the other side of the building and I have to tell you, somedays it's a major effort to leave our balcony because it's so very peaceful way up there. And then some days we head out to the pool for a quick dip and spend the rest of the day there because, again, it's so very peaceful. If you're looking for a lot of action and activity this clearly isn't a great location for you but those who go wanting to unwind can generally do so there with ease.

Thanks so much for the reply. I really appreciate the viewpoint. If it is not too much trouble, could I ask about the transaportation? Is there a bus system or are the taxis reliable, fairly priced.
Thanks again!
