Snorkeling: Playa del Carmen Forum

Heading to the Paradisus May 2003 and was hoping to do some snorkeling. I understand it is not very good at the resort. Is this true and if so can any one recommend a day trip to a good spot?

WE are also going to the Paradisus (now the Melia) in November. When you get back, I'd love to hear about your trip and the hotel. Also how the beach is?
Appreciate your comments about the hotel, rooms, food, service too.

I have heard to take the ATV jungle tour. You will get to see the island plus go kayaking and snorkeling!!! It's a five hour tour. We plan on doing that. Plus they will pick you up at your hotel.

well i recomendo you to take the ferry in Sr. frogs at playa del carmen and go to cozumel... its great!!!!

but any way if you want to stay close... any of the local guys... like the guys with the sails for rental (catameran) will take you to great spots.

I've been in the paradisus riviera last year, and I'm going back in three weeks, it's sooooooooooooooo lovely over there, last year I got really close with the entertainment staff, en during the entire year they kept emailing me! So I'm soooo excited, lovely rooms, jacuzzi on the patio, great food, very friendly people, nice parties @ the fun pub, wonderfull shows at night.... And a friend of mine went on a snorkling excursion and he really loved it...
