Check out the website at www.tripadvisor.com. There is some detailed info on and personal data on the Barcelo there. I'm trying to find out an updated report on the Viva Wyndham Maya myself. Sounds like the Barcelo is in better condition already.

Been there twice since Emily came through. First time was the Tuesday after she came through. Hotel was open but in a battered state. Second time was Aug. 16 - 21, all was well. Everything but 1 resturant was open.
