BEWARE of timeshare hounds: Cancun Mexico Forum

Last june my husband and i stayed at the Royal Sunset- the resort is beautiful. Our problem stemed from the timeshare ordeal. First we were told we HAD to hear their very long, hard sell presentation~ after hrs of "Promises" we decided to purhcase a timeshare. After three days of hearing negative remarks about the resorts mgmt and how difficult it is to get bookings, We decided three days later to cancel and they told us we signed a waiver to give up our rights to cancel. -which by the way is ILLEAGAL We were also threatened by the mgr- Mario Vega~that if we told anyone about this that we would never leave Mexico alive. After researching, seeing attorneys and working with PROEFCO for over ONE year, we finially received 1/2 of our deposit back and the contract is now cancelled. We lost over $3,000 but am happy to say that the govt is now onto them.
i have contact info if anyone is trying to get out of contract with these people.
if you decide to go to resort, keep in mine- these sales people are trained to intice, sell and coerce Americians to buy their lies. Once you sign their papers they own you, good luck
