any suggestions for trips out?: Playa del Carmen Forum

We are arriving 1st July this year, with our 3 sons aged from 13 to 19. Any suggestions for keeping them amused?
The youngest wants to swim with the dolphins.
Any recommended trips that are worthwhile for us as a family?

We went to Barcelo last summer with our "kids", age 21, 19, 14 and we had a wonderful time. The beach is wonderful and the snorkeling is great right off the pier. We took at day trip on a catamaran boat that took us to 2 large reefs where we snorkeled for quite a while. The boat was really nice and the snorkeling was great, although we saw just as many fish at the hotel. Also, we saw a big sea turtle at the hotel pier that hangs out in the area (go in the morning). We booked with Funjet at the hotel but I am sure that the trip is widely available. We also took a taxi into town one afternoon and that was fun but one afternoon was enough. The kids took advantage of the sailing instructions and windsurfing at the hotel - be sure your older kids do the same, it's harder than it looks! We thought the food was good while we were at Barcelo but we took the normal precautions about not eating salads and drinking only bottled water. Our kids want to go back but we decided to go somewhere different this year and are going to the Iberostar in Cozumel; I hope we aren't disappointed. Have a great trip!
