activities: Playa del Carmen Forum

Hi,
We are planning a family vacation in July and will be staying at the Iberostar Quetzel resort and I was wondering if there were plenty of activities for a 14 and a 12 year old to do without paying for the extra things like swimming with dolphins, scuba diving etc..?
