Hey everybody, I am a 22 year old male and im looking for the best island to take up base camp for my semi-planned vacation in january. I will be going with my mother and younger brother and im looking for the best possible place to enjoy this week with them. All three of us are partially familiar with the caribbean especially myself, but there are still plenty of islands out ther and, I was wondering if anybody had any good suggestions. Our intrest include beautiful beaches, great snorkeling, a slightly lively nightlife, and a good spot to charter a small yaucht around some islands. We all three also love outdoor phisically demanding activities. The frontrunner right now is the Westin at St.john Which we have stopped by but never actually been inside of. I would greatly appreciate responses of any kind. Thank You.

I would like to recomend the island of St. Kitts (Sugar City). Intoxicating natural beauty, sunny skies, warm waters, and white sandy beaches combine to make St. Kitts one of the most seductive spots in the Caribbean. Never a dull moment in Barbados!

Barbados is my recomendation, as it is firstly an international hub for airlines so it isnt a problem finding a flight.

Accomodation is great especially the smaller apartments/villas which have all modern amenities and are way cheaper than hotels. Check out http://www.travel-library.com/apartment ... st_church/ for a good idea of what im talking about.

Beaches are white sand and different beaches offer the best in wading for non-swimmers, swimming, snorkeling and even surfing. And the best thing is all the beaches are public, so you can go to any you feel like all FREE.

Barbados is one of the most developed caribbean islands but that means although it is small and relaxing that you will never run out of activities to do, places to visit or fun things to enjoy on your holiday.

You just have to check any post or recommendations of persons who been to Barbados on holiday and they will tell you that they never felt safer and at home.

Aruba has great white beaches, is a dutch owned island, people very friendly, great shopping, clear warm blue sea, you will love it.

yes i like aruba quite alot, think its the nicest island I've seen in the c'bean, thing is it doest have good waves for surfing whereas b'dos does.

Cabarette in Dominican Republic is famous for all kind of water sports

Go to Punta Cana - Dominican Republic! They have beautiful white sandy beaches and all inclusive resorts.

Virgin Islands are good for sailing, or you could try Jamaica.

My vote is also with Aruba it is splendid place and awesome to enjoy your vacations.

Turks and Caicos is exquisite. It will definitely prove for some unforgettable times with your family. I recommend Tranquility Vacations Property Rentals. Turks and Caicos Villa Rentals

The Grand Caymans Islands is a pretty nice place to stay. I stayed at Harbour Heights, Grand Cayman Islands Condo and had the best time. The resort was located right on the Seven Mile Beach and the people there were very friendly.

As far as activities, you can do a number of things, including visiting stingray city, the turtle farm, or go snorkeling and coral reef diving. Check out the website for more information about the resort and things to do.

I visited Aruba and thought it was a very nice island. it is, sadly, a little to commercialized...and this was about 10 years ago when I went, so I can't imagine that it hasn't gotten much better. St. Thomas is always a great spot...and they speak English!

If your looking for a small out of the place island, there is an island called Dominica. This is probably the one island that i would go to and just forget about life for a while....

Have been to several and St. Kitts is nice. Not quite as commercial growth. There are goats and monkeys all over the island.
You can rent scooters, several beautiful beaches and a fort you can visit.

I will be heading off to Aruba in 19 days and counting!!!
