Tulum safe?

Postby pinkfo on Tue Jun 12, 2007 1:30 am

Hi - Looking to travel alone to Cabanas Copal for a personal retreat within the next several weeks - The cabanas seems exquisitely rustic & about as close to nature as one can get while still sleeping in a bed!... The Maya Spa looks really cool as well - any recommendations out there?? Thanks - anxiously awaiting replies......

Tulum is as safe as any city can be.
Use common sense, don't be flashing your money or the family jewels around and you'll be fine.

Check out Xamach Dos at KM32 on the Boca Paila road to Punta Allen.
New caretakers there and Margo is the best host on the Coast.
The feeling there is very different.

Enjoy your break,
Howie

Tulum is a pretty safe, laid back type of town. Tourism is big business there - I doubt you'll have any problems.

I think once you're in Spain, you can't miss mallorca and tenerife . They are all unforgettable places to visit and I'd love to go back for awhile. If you're in Barcelona be sure to check out the Picasso museum as well and I think the best way to get around Spain is by train, and you can see the beautiful scene along the way.
Have a good trip in Spain!
