Towels? Iron?

Postby M.M, on Thu May 01, 2003 10:31 pm

Does the property offer beach towel service and have an iron to use if needed?

Does it offer internet/telephone services?

How much is a cab to downtown area and is it easy to get one to go?
M.M,

They do supply beach towels, you just have to sign them in and out with your room number. I don't remember if there was an iron or not, sorry. I also do not know about the internet. A cab to town is about $15 dollars one way, for the cab, not per person. It is a bit expensive, but it is about 15 to 20 minutes to town. They also rent vehicles across the street, I believe you can get a VW bug for about $20 but if you want a jeep, or convertible they are more. We rented a jeep when we were there and we paid $60. That is for 24 hours. Beautiful place, and if you treat the staff right, they will treat you right. A tip here and there goes a long way.

We just returned from 8 days at The Reef Club. They have internet service in the lobby but you must stand and it's very very hot (105 degrees and 90 percent humidity) with no air conditioning. It's also very expensive to use.( in comparison to the few on route to town) I think we paid 15.00 an hour at the resort but only paid 2.00 an hour in the complex that has a McDonalds on route to Cozumel. The 2 that are at the resort are EXTREMELY slow and took 4 and a half minutes to transmitt an e mail.

Irons were not available. We had a good time. We have been to Mexico 4 times in the last three years. The water there seems to be a problem even in the suites that are functional. Several building have NO water and you can tell my the shower water and toilet that their plumbing is lacking.

The food was good for "all inclusives". If you stay in a junior suite you don't have to make reservations for dinner. If your accomidations are less you do. Our jeep cost us 60.00 after the discount we were suppose to get after doing a time share type of thing. We did however enjoy it as we drove around as much of the island as they will allow. Remember to ask where the gas stations are and get good directions from someone that speaks english. There are only two on the island. Enjoy and let me know how it went for you.
Regards,
Laurie
