Greetings. I'm bringing my husband, 80 year old mom, and 6 year old daughter to mexico for christmas. Will be spending a few days in tulum and while we want "rustic" we are looking for that delicate balance between that and some comforts, like lights, clean accomodations, and a cross breeze at night. Also want a beach that isn't too rocky, which I understand Zamas has. Does anyone know Tierras Del Sol? Is it that much farther down than Zamas? Any recommendations for the mid-price range traveler?

Beverly -- I am not familiar with Tierras del Sol but cannot recommend Zamas after a recent very bad experience there. Our group stayed at Las Ranitas and found that to be very nice. In two weeks in Mexico, our only bad experience was with Zamas but it was horrid. Hope this helps.
