does anyone know the status of the new construciton project at Swept Away? in february, we saw they were clearing an area for more rooms near the really quiet beach area (alas!).
we were wondering how far they got, and when it might be done and how it might impact the quietness...

My wife and I are going to SA in Jan. 04. COuld you tell us how the construction impacted your recent trip there? Can you hear the work from the beach and the rooms? Thanks very much.

we were at SA in 2/03 and they had just cleared alot of trees and brush in the area they were going to build...there was no construction going on at that time. it's in the 'quiet' beach area, where there's a bar on the beach (heading in the direction toward negril town, not in the direction of Couples).

please let me know your experience. our travel agent has been there in nov. and says construction is well underway. she recommended we stick with the beachfront rooms in the original area. we liked the second floor, but didn't like begin too close to the dining room because of music later at night.

ps we do recommend massages...they are excellent, very strong. the workout area is sort of older but very available and it's nice working out in with no walls...the lap pool is great.
