Hi! My fiance and are wanting to have a destination wedding and are looking into possible resorts in the Riviera Maya or Playa de Carmen area. I have been searching for resort for months now and can not choose one for the life of me! HELP, anyone have any suggestion for resorts or have had weddings in this area? I was looking at a few such as Royal at Playa de Carmen, Riu Palace, Ioberstar Lindo, Moon Palace and Golf, etc. Thanks!

I have stayed at Moon Palace, it is beautiful. Since I'm going to Paradisus Riviera Cancun in June, I've been pouring over the boards & reviews. People seem to like the adult only resorts in the same area as where I'm staying for weddings. I have seen El Dorado Royale, Excellence Riviera Cancuna and Secrets Capri mentioned specifically wedding wise. I think Paradisus would be gorgeous too.......even Moon Palace. Not sure what the difference in prices would be, but all are all-inclusive. Try trip advisor and search the above hotels in Puerto Morales.

I just got married on June 2, 2007 and choose Na Balam on Isla Mujeres as our venue. HIGHLY recommend them! Another possibility if you want to stay in the Playa del Carmen area is Shangri-La Caribe. Absolutely beautiful there as well. If you are looking for a wedding photographer, I could assist you with that as well. I'm out of Denver, CO but often head down there to shoot.
