Reviews say the beach is very small here. Is there shore access to snorkelling other than at beach or Xcaret park at this resort? (I don't want have to pay or drive to snorkel.)

You literally bet your life there's snorkelling at the Grand Xcaret. An 8 year old boy was in the salt water pool at the Grand Xcaret in April 2003 and was killed by being sucked into an uncovered 11.5 inch diameter drain pipe. Gross negligence by resort management who lack all respect for human life.
Story was on US TV covered by Inside Edition.

yes the beach is very small not much for snorkling but the ocean is right there but it has a stong current. Other than the park you are hooped.
