Sandals vs. RIU

Postby RichieRichR6 on Sun Aug 27, 2006 7:29 pm

Hi everyone.

My fiancee and I are planning to go to Ocho Rios for honeymoon. We are in our mid 30's. We can't decide between Sandals and RIU. Can anyone share their experiences at either resort?

I know that Sandals are adult only and is more expensive, but is it worth it? RIU does allow kids. I rather not have kids running and screaming around all day.

Please help us decide. :)

Negril is THE 'Beach Resort' location in Jamaica, Montego Bay and Ochi are both little 'tourist cities' by the sea.

They have Sandals in Negril, no contest, but stay on Negril Beach not in the 'West End' whatever the price difference.

Me an the fiance are going to Sandals Montego in May for our honeymoon. We picked that because of the no kids, all inclusive, couples idea. I hope we made the right decision....

I'd opt for Sandals on honeymoon if you're looking for a large resort. As you point out it's couples only, and I think the level of service is better there.

Sandals is perfect for a honeymoon--adults only, definitely worth the extra money. If it is more than what you are budgeting, I would recomend the Riu as a second choice. You might want to take a look at Couples too. If you need help, I specialize in destination weddings and honeymoons.
