We have to SGOR twice; we are returning in December. It is often called "the Garden of Eden" of Sandals because of all the tropical follage, which we like. We have only stayed in the Riveria because of the close proximity of the beach and public areas. I have read the villas up the hill on the Manor side are nice. We have never stayed there but did a site inspection, including viewing the villas. They are more private with their own pools (shared with a adjoining villas) and with a great view of the bay. Jitney's are provided for getting down to the beach and Riveria bldg. The Manor does have a new pool that has zero entry (you wade into it). Between the joined properties (the former Beaches and SOR) that now make up SGOR, there are plenty of restaurants, including those at SDR. Food is available at all hours and with concierge and butler rooms, 24 room service. If you can afford it, I hear the Butler service is the way to go (you do have to tip the butler however - they are the only ones that can accept tips). I assume that they have renovated all the rooms, or most, since Sandals bought the property and turned them into Sandals. I know the concierge rooms at the Riveria bldg are nice as we stayed in one a couple of years ago and they were newly renovated.
Contrary to popular belief - weed is illegal in Jamaica. You don't want to spend your honeymoon in a Jamaica jail cell so I suggest don't do it.

Why take a chance?
There are a couple of other sites that have plenty of reviews and pictures:
