Sandals Montego Bay

Postby edward on Sat Mar 25, 2006 4:48 pm

My wife and I are staying at the Sandals Montego Bay early May. Has anyone stayed there that could tell us what to expect?? We are in uor late 40's and have stayed in Cancun a few times, but it seems the younger wilder crowd has taken over there! We are not into hedo but do like to push the envelope on ocassion. Do they allow topless at the beach/pool??..I take it there is no au natural sunbathing how is the nightlife...

Sandals Montego Bay

Well, I guess we will be going to Montego Bay instead of Ocho Rios.....I want to be closer to the airport - only have 4 nights/5 days there - don't want two hours to SOCR.....

Did you get any feedback on Montego Bay? From all I've seen after meeting with my Sandals reps, I really think we'll like it......anxious to hear from anyone on what they might have found out about MB. Though, I've already booked it so I guess it doesn't matter! :-)

MOBAY is Great

:D

My wife and I have gone to Jamaica 3 times once to Sandals MoBay (our original plan was the Ritz) then to the Ritz. Then back to Sandals MoBay to remind us why we liked Jamaica.

MoBay was very friendly and our room was right on the beach. The drinks and fun were non-stop when you wanted it. But the more private areas of the beach were great for taking it easy. We went to the Royal on the exchange for the Thia (it was OK) but lots of fun. You made a great choice. We are returning again this year to the Sandals WhiteHouse. We are hoping for a similar or better experience.

BTW - The Ritz is great if all-inclusive mean you don't mind tipping 5.00 per drink to still be low man on the totem pole when trying to get a drink at the pool.

My fiance and I are going there on our honeymoon. We hope to have a good time. The pictures look amazing on the sites we went to while trying to figure out where to stay. Anything to watch out for? Any advice?

Sandals is one of the larger all inclusives in Montego Bay - it has a great location, it's top of the range, but does have quite a resorty feel to it.

If you're on honeymoon I'd recommned somewhere a little quieter, maybe somewhere like St Elizabeth which is on the southern coast.

I can't imagine you wont LOVE IT, it's on a fantastic beach.
If you want something more intimate or a change of pace, take the free shuttle over to Sandals Inn or Royal Caribbean. I love the restaurant at Sandals Inn at night, dining under the stars. You know they have a private island at RC. Nightlife is tricky, depends on the guests of the week. You can always take a cab to Margaritaville--very fun bar with a waterslide.

Have fun, wish I were going.....
