Royal Reef Resort

Postby Dave on Sun Mar 30, 2003 12:03 pm

I have read several outstanding reviews about the Royal Reef Resort in Grand Cayman. My only concern is the distance from other activities and restaurants.

Are the transportation rates reasonable? Rental car rates? Any reason to leave the property?

Your input is appreciated.

Royal Reef is far----more than an hour drive from the town. Roads are good and safe.

Ask the Reef or Oceans Frontier what the best car rental rates are. I enjoyed seeking other snorkeling places, etc. in our car.

There were events planned every day we were at Royal Reef...naturalist trips, kayak trips, etc.some with and some without a cost.

I go to the Carribean to relax, swim, snorkel, look at the stars, take naps on quiet beaches and enjoy the natural attractions of the area...so the Royal Reef is perfect for that...they don't even allow radios on the beach.

If you want to go shopping, eat out often in the best restaurants (there are cooking facilities in the units, a restaurant on site and some about ten min. ride away) or night club, you'll probably want to stay in the city.

Hope that helps you decide. By the way, I wrote one of the reviews because Royal Reef is one of the best places for me and other reviews helped me decide that.
