I am going to the Riviera Maya area the end of this month with a friend (co worker) and are confirmed at the El Dorodo Resort & Spa. A friend of mine just returned from there. I am a bit concerned because she said the food wasn't that great and was bland. The beach was very windy and not at all calm. Also the hotel was mostly couples. I've stayed at the Riu Palace in Playacar and the beach was very calm & swimmable and the food was very good. Am I going to be dissappointed in the El Dorado? Our other choice was at the Occidental Caribbean Village Playacar but it's not on the beach. Has anyone stayed there? Is it just a short walk to the beach? Any imput will be much appreciated.
