Has anyone stayed here? if so, PLEASE give me an honest review! I am dying to know what someone, other than the staff, has to say about this expensive resort. I passed by it on a cruise, and I was wondering if it was worth it to stay. Time-sensitive issue, please resopnd soon...

I would not stay there. It's not on the beach. Yes, they are across from the beach and this makes a big difference in Cayman. Yes, they claim they have thier own beach...it's part of the real beach that everyone is staying on. and its acorss the road and too busy for me.
All the best places are ON the beach. For the money you would spend here you can stay at an ocean front condo or apartment. I've been to Cayman over 10 times.

thinking of staying at the hyatt,
the meal plan is 70 p/p per day(breakfast & dinner). is it worth it?

I loved the Hyatt on Grand Cayman. Yes they are across the street from the hotel. Unless you get a suite, they are on the beach. Even if you stay in the main hotel its not that far from the beach. I can see how people with lower incomes fell that they are high priced, But I find them very reasonable. I've been to Cayman many times and this is the best hotel on the island.

hyatt is the nicest hotel... much better than the westin in every regard; but we now stay at condo northern seven mile. much bigger, more privacy and superb beach. the beaches at the hotels are very crowded. the beaches up on northern end are absolutely the largest and uncrowded.
stayed at the hyatt (suite on beach) three times before going to condos. -if you do stay at hyatt, (but why?) skip brunch... stale eggs benedict.

My wife and I stayed at the Hyattt for a week in March 2003 for our first trip to Grand Cayman. It was fantastic. I can't think of one negative about the week we spent there. The service was great. The staff that waited on us at the beach were very attentive. This trip cost us a small fortune, but it was well worth it. If you go, eat at least once at Deckers if you love lobster...it was unbelievable!!! We took a tour of the island that was great. We also went to String Ray city, Hell and the Turtle Farm...all great. This was the perfect vacation if you are looking to relax and don't care about a lively night life. Bring half the clothes and twice the money you think you need......but well worth it!! feel free to e-mail me with questions.
