Is nude sunbathing allowed in or around porto real resort and spa and if so are there any gawkers as I have a very hot body and cannot relax with my picture being taken by strangers.

Yes topless (not nude) sunbathing happens on the beaches in Playa del Carmen. Though "technically" not legal there are many many women who go topless on the beaches in Playa.

As for gawkers...in my experience most people are simply "cool" about it...not causing problems for the women etc. It would be very uncommon to have people taking pictures of you on the beach, though to be honest I am sure it happens sometimes.
