Planning trip at Christmas - could
someone that has been to this area let
me know what it is like. This is our
first trip to Jamaica. We will have 4
young adults with us. Will it be safe
for them to go out to clubs at night?
Also, do you find the beaches to be
safe during the day? Thanks!
P.S. We are planning to rent a house.

Ocho Rios, "Ochie", is a pretty good place. I prefer the North Coast though. There really aren't too many clubs other than what would be in the resort areas. Which is usually pretty safe. Which beach are you going to? I personally like "Reggae Beach" it is hidden and not a thing that most tourists go to. Private beach, fresh lobster, and Irie people. Everett is the gentleman who owns the beach and Donovan is his manager. Great people. The more respectful and laid back you are, the better you will fit in. Treat it as you would as any big city in the States and you will be ok. You don't want to go around flashing money, etc....
