Ocho Rio - Weather in October?

Postby Mike LV on Wed Mar 29, 2006 1:56 pm

I am planning a trip to Ocho Rios in October, I have read that this is one of the two rainy months. Can someone give me an idea of what October really is like? Does it rain every day, all day? Is there no chance for nice sunshine while hanging out on the beach?

Any information on what October is like would be greatly appreciated!

Happy travels!

The rainy season is usually during the fall. Usually brief showers followed by sunshine. Overcast days are rare.

The rainy season, which extends from May to November with two peaks: May/June and October/November. Although this time of year is a little more humid than others, rain usually falls for short periods (normally in the late afternoon) and it's quite possible to enjoy sunshine for most of your visit.

It's also the hurricane season - which (usually) runs from August to November.

I have traveled to Jamaica over 20 times in the last 25 years, all different times of year and places, the time we had themost rain was absolutely crazy -in Feb! when it is not usually rainy.
Always take travelinsurance and make sure it covers for hurricane cancellation-go and have a good time!
