I am thinking about going to Cozumel in August and staying at the Occidental Allegro. I am going alone and wanted to know if this would be a good choice or does anyone know of something that would be better? I'm looking for relaxation and a little fun - no singles places!!!

We just came back from there. Went on our honeymoon. You could not pay me to stay there again. The rooms smelled terrible. Not the kind of smell you get used to. The rooms were very old, not at all up to date. We stayed gone most of the time. Did not want to be in the room. We drove around and found the ElCozumeno. We wished we stayed there, new, clean and very friendly. Beautiful pools that look out over the ocean.

We just got back from the Occidental "Grand" Cozumel and don't let the name fool you. Both the Occidentals (Grand and Allegro) in Cozumel are very understaffed. We were upset about the Grand not being grand but the people on our return flight were sayin the Allegro wasn't any better just older.
