We love staying at Couples Ocho Rios. It's a bit more expensive than you meantioned. If you can afford a bit more you should check out the Couples Resorts at www.couples.com

My new husband and I stayed at the RIU Tropical Bay last year and loved it. Gorgeous beach! Nice rooms with lovely view of the beach and ocean. Very nice staff. Good food. Price was just right for 7 days. Not too expensive like some of those AI resorts can be. I would go back in a heartbeat. Actually, planning my honeymoon right now and considering it. But lots of choices out there! Hope this helped!

Hey I see the type of vacation you are looking for. Its probably the same one we just booked. We are going to CSA on the 20th of March after we get married on the 17th. We are addicted to AI resorts throughout the caribbean. This is the first time we will be going to Jamaica.
Like your husband, I do enjoy the warmth of a resort, but need the AC when indoors sleeping. I have read nothing but great reviews on CSA and with spring breakers discouraged from going there, we are all about it. I do know that if you don't consume alcoholic beverages then AI isn't the way to go.
Recently CSA have the highest resort awards for 2006 in all of the Caribbean due to the renovations. There are several websites to book from and as much as I don't like pushing what I used, I hate people spending more money than they need to. So couples at the dot com place was the cheapest we found and until the end of Aug has incredible upgrades. Hope this helps

Hi, I have lived in Jamaica for three years and I don't live there anymore!!

Jamaica is a very Beautiful island but is limited by the lack of public services of almost any kind that are useable by a non local.

You are therefore limited to taxis and tourist guides etc, can bre difficult and in a few days you will be better off just lying by the beach, leaving your resort will become an 'adventure holiday'.

I advise you to stay in Negril this is the most genuine 'beach resort' (not in the 'West End') in Jamaica , if you stay in Mo Bay many of the all inclusives are very close to the airport and you therefore suffer a lot of of plane noise. It also has no recommended beaches that you don't have to pay to go on if you fancy a day out of the resort.

The most beautiful part of Jamaica is Portland very lush and tropical but I would think all inclusives if they exist down there are expensive. I was once robbed in the middle of the night at French Mans Cove when I went to close my car window in a downpour, lady in room asleep ... Jamaica Jamaica!!)

Remember Jamaica is a country of huge economic gradient, all those friendly waiters in resort are on an absolute pittance by any standards, and those outside even worse off, be careful.

If you want a resort, try to find an adults only all inclusive in Ocho Rios / Montego Bay.

If you're looking for something quieter, try St Elizabeth - the beaches are near deserted, it's a very pretty little part of the island.
