Look into the The Blue Parrot in Playa del Carmen: http://www.blueparrot.com.

I know Hurricane Wilma just went through but depending on when you want to go Playa should be back up and running in 6 months or so.

I would second Negril, Jamaica. If Rockhouse is too expensive (usually is during peak season), try Xtabi or Blue Cave Castle. Negril has a lot of night life, a different place each night.

while beaches sandy bay is nice, it is really a family resort. I would suggest Superclubs Breezes Runaway Bay (Ocho Rios area). I stayed there when it was Jamaica Jamaica but I am sure it hasn't changed much. No families - only couples and singles over 16 and over. Most of your Superclubs are for adult singles and couples. As far as Breezes Montego Bay, they will be closing soon for some major renovations. Hedonism is very much a party place and people go to let it all hang out - not for the prudish.
