we will be staying at the Grand Porto Real the first week of August. Do they
have any nightly entertainment there, or
do you have to go outside of the resort. I'm traveling with 2 18year olds and a 12 year old. Will they be bored? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Vietta, there is plenty to do in Playa! Many clubs within walking distance for your 18 year olds (Blue Parrot, Senior Frogs, etc.)and my 8 year old loved bartering with the local merchants on 5th Ave. Plenty to do - The pools is great, but you will have to walk a little to get to a good swimming portion of the beach - muchas, muchas seaweed! Just got back on Saturday June 28th, 2003. Have a great trip!

We went to the Gran Porto Real last Thanksgiving. We up graded to a jr. suite with a great view and patio-- well worth the money. Our kids had a great ime. The food at the buffet is so so.. Make early reservations at the Italian rest. well worth it!! yummy too!!The beach is small-- lots of rocks and boats tied up-- but very pretty.. We are trying to go back again this holiday-- but we can not decide where to stay-- we would like to try a new place? Staff here seemed very nice and the maid service was great-- just remember to tip a lot -- small ammounts every day-- girls at the kids club were awesome!!
